Sorry for the English, but my command of Dutch is far from perfect. Well, it's nonexistent, really.

I wanted to say that there's sheer hypocrisy in words of Palestinian legislators and negotiators. They do not mind seeing their people suffer, as long as that means they'll get more cash in the future.

The suffering's isn't that serious, to be honest, at least not in FATAH-controlled West Bank. Two months ago, in an interview with Jackson Diehl from the Washington Post, Palestinian PM Mahmoud Abbas said the life in the West Bank was "good". Just recently, Palestinians opened a luxurious five-story wall in Jenin, and the economy of Nablus sees great improvement lately, particularly after IDF eased restrictions at Hawara checkpoint.

Still, this is not enough for Palestinian management. According to same WaPo interview, Abbas waits for Obama's pressure to force Israeli PM Netanyahu off his seat, thus giving way to someone else, possibly more prone to ceding Israeli assets.

Abbas nor Erekat could not care less about Gaza at the moment (besides the fake speeches); moreover, their attitude towards their Gazan brothers clearly reflects attitudes by rest of the Arab world towards the Palestinians. Everyone talks the talk - no one walks the walk. While Arab world decries horrors of Israeli occupation and poor Palestinians, no one allocated serious funds to create infrastructure in Palestinian refugee camps in Lebanon, Jordan, Syria, Iraq and others. Just recently, Jordan began revoking citizenship rights of some Palestinian residents of this country. But for all of them - Abbas, Abdallah, Mubarak, Assad - it is much easier to blame Israel, than deal with the problems. Palestinians could be used as the cheapest fighting force against the Jews - later to be thrown out and forgotten.
